Celeb Speak: Oscar Nominee Jessica Chastain Has a Fear of Getting Fired

Jessica Chastain The Help Celia FooteFinding out that she was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Celia Foote in The Help probably helped Jessica Chastain get one step closer to conquering one of her biggest fears: getting fired. Though the actress is arguably one of the best talents to heat up the silver screen in 2011 (and beyond), she told E! that she’s constantly worried that she’ll get the boot from every set.

The actress said, “Everyone keeps telling me you get fired from at least one set in your life, and I haven’t been fired yet…I’ve been fired on little things, but nothing big. So now every time I’m on a set, I’m like, ‘This could be the one.'” Later adding that Tree of Life was stressful because “I thought it in the first week that I was going to get fired.”

Sorry, Miss Chastain, but this is just bananas; no one in their right mind would fire this screen siren. She may not be confident in her employabilty, but the Academy sure seems to appreciate her onscreen talents, so it’s probably a safe bet that she won’t be subject to the on-set ax anytime soon. The actress will take her talents to the Middle East next, working on Katheryn Bigelow’s Osama Bin Laden film, where she’ll probably knock her performance out of the park yet again. And perhaps if she walks away with a little golden man after the Feb. 26 Oscars ceremony, she’ll be able to rest easy in front of the camera for once.
