Our favorite celebrities have many talents including singing and acting. But some of them are lacking in other areas like knowing the vocabulary of their first language. Which ones are the best offenders? Here are 10 celebrities that aren’t the best at English, but we still love them for trying!
1. Chris Pratt doesn’t know what “impotent” means.

In an interview he said he was impotent when he was 300 lbs. As you can imagine that made waves, but when further asked about it he admitted he had no clue what the word meant. We still love you, Chris!
2. Joey Essex tries to make “reem” something it’s not.
The reality star from The Only Way Is Essex continually uses the word as cool. He even wrote a book called Being Reem. This is kind of unfortunate since it’s really close to “ream” which is what most people associate with a certain sexual act.
3. Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie don’t quite get “generic.”
The two clueless celebrities were pretty lost in the grocery store on their reality show, especially when they came across this word. But why would they know what generic is? They get name brand everything.
4. Britney Spears might not know what “overseas” mean.
It’s either that or the pop princess doesn’t know where Canada is. Either way she has said in an interview, “I get to go to overseas places, like Canada.”
5. David Beckham doesn’t know what “christened” means.
The hot soccer player was asked if his son, Brooklyn will be christened. His answer? “I definitely want Brooklyn to be christened, but I don’t know into what religion yet.” Probably with the only religion that does it?
6. Kanye West misuses the word “reincarnated.”
We understand the love for Gucci, but we’re not sure what the rapper meant by this. At some point he said, “I won’t go into a big spiel about reincarnation, but the first time I was in the Gucci store in Chicago was the closest I’ve ever felt to home.” Did he die in the store and turn into a coat?
7. Paula Abdul accidentally lies about never being drunk.
The former American Idol judge was so close, but missed the mark. She once said “I’ve never been drunk in my life. I don’t use recreational drugs.” That’s not how any of this works, Paula.
8. Mike Tyson wants to fade away…to the wrong place.
There is Bolivia and oblivion. Somehow the retired boxer mixed the two things up in this gem. “I guess I’m gonna fade into Bolivian.” Good luck with that!
9. Axl Rose doesn’t really mean “one on one” when he says it.
Cheaters can be very delusional, but the rocker took it to a whole new level with this quote. “It’s really hard to maintain a one-on-one relationship if the other person is not going to allow me to be with other people.” Barf!
10. Alicia Silverstone doesn’t know the difference between deep and light.
Tumblr/ Paramount Pictures
We love Clueless just like everyone else. But we don’t think the main actress knows how to correctly describe it. “I think that the film Clueless was very deep. I think it was deep in the way that it was very light. I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it’s true lightness.” What does that even mean?
