regis philbinToday marks Regis Philbin‘s last day on the Live With Regis & Kelly show after a 28 year run of making America laugh from his comical hosting antics. He made our mornings a little brighter, and although we knew this day was coming, it doesn’t make the goodbye any easier. But we aren’t the only ones in mourning — celebrities from every arena are taking to Twitter to express how much they’ll miss him and how thankful they are for his amazing small-screen contributions. Here’s what some of our favorite Hollywood stars had to say to our beloved Reg:

His former co-host, Kathie Lee Gifford, tweeted, “Loved seeing my Reege and Kelly this morning. So many wonderful memories…”

Piers Morgan tweeted, “Congratulations #Regis – great man, great star, great career. Loved working with him on America’s Got Talent.”

Former Dexter star Julie Benz, wrote, “Can’t believe its Regis Philbin’s last day….. thank you for filling our mornings with laughter!!”

Kevin Jonas gave a shout out, saying, “@Regis_and_Kelly congrats Reege were gonna miss you thank you for the memories! Can’t wait to see what’s next for you! #cantstopthereege”

Funnyman Howie Mandel tweeted, “@Regis_and_Kelly the end of an era. Television will never be the same. I’ll miss you Regis”

Katie Couric posted, “Regis’s last show! #regisfarewell”

But his co-host Kelly Ripa probably said it best by simply writing the universal online sign for sadness, ” :-(“

As you can see, the 80-year-old television icon has made quite a monumental impression on the world and will certainly not be easy to replace. In closing, Regis gave his final farewell to the many fans and colleagues he’s worked with over these last three decades. And while I know it’s not goodbye forever (I hope), I can’t help but get choked up at the thought that weekday mornings will never be the same. Check out the video below to see Regis’ final words on the show. Congratulations Reg — we’ll miss you!
