The loooong-awaited remake of Footloose has suffered another setback, one that’s sure to devastate female moviegoers everywhere: Chace Crawford has backed out of the lead role in the dance movie.
The Gossip Girl star was set for the Kevin Bacon role in the remake of the 1984 classic, but that’s no longer the case, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts with his hit CW show.
So it’s back to the drawing board for producers of the movie that once boasted Zac Efron as its attached male lead, and sources tell Entertainment Weekly’s Insider Blog that an unknown may be the next option for the role of Ren McCormack.
