Charles Mingus, a talented musician, produced music for many Hollywood productions. Mingus began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like "Shadows" (1961), "Stations of the Elevated" (1980) and the Marguerite Thiam drama "Le Certificat d'Indigence" (1982). His music also appeared in "Absolute Beginners" (1986) and the Denzel Washington dramedy "Mo' Better Blues" (1990). In addition to his music, Mingus appeared in the musical drama "All Night Long" (1963) with Patrick McGoohan. In the nineties, Mingus's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Tom Cruise box office smash comedic drama "Jerry Maguire" (1996), "Charles Mingus: Triumph of the Underdog" (1997) with Dannie Richmond and "U-Turn" (1997) with Sean Penn. His work was also in the dramatic adaptation "Thrane's Method" (1998) with Bjorn Sundquist. Mingus's music was also featured in the comedy "Drumline" (2002) with Nick Cannon, the dramatic adaptation "Young Adam" (2004) with Ewan McGregor and "The Notorious Bettie Page" (2006).
