Chi Cheng tragedy sparks road safety campaign

A road safety campaign has been launched in honour of tragic Deftones star Chi Cheng, who died following a car crash. The bassist passed away earlier this year (13) after being in a semi-comatose state since the accident in 2008.
Cheng was thrown from a vehicle in a head-on collision in Santa Clara, California, and his family and friends are backing the newly-launched Buckle Up For Chi campaign, urging motorists to always wear a seat belt.
A campaign spokesman says, “Buckle Up For Chi was established in an effort to honour the memory of an amazing man whose life was tragically changed after he was involved in a car accident… This campaign serves as a tribute to not only the legacy he left behind, but to the lives that will be saved because of seat belt awareness.”
