Claire Davenport was widely known for her acting on the big screen. Early on in her acting career, Davenport landed roles in various films, including "On the Buses" (1971) with Reg Varney, the comedy "Intimate Games" (1976) with Peter Blake and the Nicky Henson musical comedy "The Bawdy Adventures of Tom Jones" (1976). She also appeared in "Adventures of a Plumber's Mate" (1978). She continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies and the eighties, appearing in "Carry on Emmannuelle" (1978), "Birth of the Beatles" (1979) and the comedic fantasy "Jubilee" (1979) with Jenny Runacre. She also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Casanova" (1980-81). Toward the end of her career, she continued to act in "The Elephant Man" (1980), the Mark Hamill box office smash action flick "Return of the Jedi" (1983) and the Nathaniel Parker experimental "War Requiem" (1989). Davenport also acted in "The Tempest."
