Claire Forlani ‘ducked and dived’ to avoid Weinstein’s ‘slobbering’

British actress Claire Forlani has recalled “ducking and diving” on five separate occasions in a desperate bid to avoid the affections of Harvey Weinstein.
The Meet Joe Black star is the latest celebrity to come forward with her past encounters with the disgraced movie mogul, who stands accused of subjecting multiple women to inappropriate sexual behaviour over three decades.
Claire detailed her reported experiences in a series of Twitter posts, revealing the lengths she would go to to escape his clutches.
“Nothing happened to me with Harvey – by that I mean, I escaped 5 times,” she began. “I had two Peninsula Hotel meetings in the evening with Harvey and all I remember was I ducked, dived and ultimately got out of there without getting slobbered over, well just a bit.”
Like many other actress’ accounts, Claire claims there was a suggestion she partake in a “massage”, but she refused to fall for the ploy.
“I remember him telling me all the actresses who had slept with him and what he had done for them. I wasn’t drinking the cool aid (sic), I knew Harvey was a master manipulator,” she wrote. “He also announced to me at the last dinner I had with him… that his pilot knew to be on standby because he could never get me to sleep with him.”
Claire was approached to tell her story as part of journalist Ronan Farrow’s expose in The New Yorker, published on Tuesday (10Oct17), five days after the scandal was originally made public in The New York Times, but she was advised against doing so. It’s a decision she now regrets, especially after reading actress Mira Sorvino’s call for solidarity among victims and demand for action, after she rejected Weinstein’s unwanted advances, and was then kept from being hired for top projects.
“Today I sit here feeling some shame, like I’m not a woman supporting other women,” she explained. “I just read Mira Sorvino’s article in Time and she writes of how scared she was to speak out and participate. I take little solace in that.”
