British actress Clara Paget was hospitalised with appendicitis during the filming of new TV drama Black Sails. The Fast & Furious 6 star, 24, was working on the TV prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island when she became ill, and doctors rushed her into surgery as soon as she was admitted to hospital.
Paget tells Britain’s Mail on Sunday, “‘It was absolutely terrifying. I was really ill and suddenly I was being rushed off to hospital. They cut into all my great core muscles – it was agony. I was supposed to be back shooting a few days afterwards and I just had to say, ‘I’m sorry, this is not going to happen’.”
Paget has since made a full recovery.
