Clive Standen picked to take Taken to TV

Actor Clive Standen has signed on to give Liam Neeson’s Taken character a background story in a new TV series.
The Vikings star will play Bryan Mills in a new NBC prequel to Luc Besson’s 2008 action film, in which Neeson portrayed the retired CIA operative on the hunt for his kidnapped daughter.
In the new series, Standen’s Mills will be a black ops member of the elite Emergency Covert Action Team, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Besson is attached to executive produce the series. Alex Graves will direct the pilot.
Besson isn’t new to the movie-to-TV game – La Femme Nikita and Transporter have both tasted success of the big and small screen.
