Colin Cunningham is known for his work on Canadian television crime drama series, though has made appearances in American action, adventure, and sci-fi films. In the Canadian military sci-fi series "Stargate SG-1," starring Richard Dean Anderson, Cunningham played Paul Davis, a Pentagon-based air force major who often helps Stargate with Earth-based conflicts that involve other countries or the United States government itself. Cunningham also appeared in another notable Canadian drama series, "Da Vinci's Inquest," considered to be similar in plot to "NYPD Blue," playing detective Brian Curtis, a corrupt Vancouver police officer who is often at odds with the main character, the chief coroner. Two American films Cunningham has acted in are "The 6th Day" and " Elektra." In "The 6th Day," which is more science fiction-based, Cunningham plays an anti-cloning religious fundamentalist who is pursued by the film's star, Arnold Schwartzenegger, who has been cloned against his will. In "Elektra," with Jennifer Garner playing the martial arts master of the title, Cunningham plays an agent who negotiates for her services as an assassin. He has also written, produced, directed, and starred in his own critically acclaimed short film, "Centigrade," about a man who has been taken hostage in his own trailer dwelling.
