Born Conception Picado, Conchita Montenegro was imported to Hollywood by Fox who made her a "Fox Debutante" in 1931 along with Helen Mack and Linda Watkins. Unlike Mack and Watkins, however, the studio never really pushed Montenegro, who instead labored in stock assignments in such films as The Cisco Kid (1931) and Handy Andy(1934) while starring in a host of Spanish-language films. She returned to Europe in 1935 and continued her screen career until at least 1944. Montenegro was at some point married to minor league "Latin Lover" Raul Rulien.
