It was reported that Lindsay Lohan had been booked to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman to read the what would have been tonight’s top ten list. After she realized doing so would require her to do all the things she does not do, she tweeted that she didn’t sign up for the appearance and that there must have been a mix-up. The Late Show issued a statement that said they were in the wrong because they made the deal with someone who presented themselves as a person on Lindsay’s team who could book her appearances, but who really didn’t have the authority to do so. TMZ found out that it was her dad, Michael, who contacted the show and falsely told them that Lindsay wanted to come on and read the list and last night, David Letterman issued an apology for the whole thing that ended with, “I hope I didn’t embarrass you, Lindsay, or your family.” Nice penalty kick, Lettie. – TMZ
