Dave Mackay was shown in the 2009 movie breaking a players’ strike at British side Derby County in the 1970s – but the sports star was not even signed to the club at the time of the incident.
He insists it made him look “disloyal” to legendary soccer manager Brian Clough – and sued the producers of the film, which stars Michael Sheen.
Mackay’s lawyers confirm movie bosses have now paid him undisclosed damages and issued him with an apology.
The former soccer star says, “They twisted it. I’d never have done anything that was disloyal.”
