Biography

Hailing from South Africa, Dave Wittenberg is a voice actor with hundreds of credits in animated movies, television series, and video games dating back to 1978. Wittenberg has been a prominent vocal presence in the anime world, appearing in such genre franchises as ."hack," "Appleseed," "Afro Samurai," and the popular action-fantasy series "Naruto," in which he memorably voiced the nuanced duality of mysterious ninja leader Kakashi Hatake. Wittenberg has also lent his versatile pipes to a host of animated (but non-anime) programs that include the sci-fi adventure show "Ben 10," the controversial powerhouse "Family Guy," and the mixed-media children's series "Chowder." A performer whose various artistic channels make good bedfellows, he has provided voices for such movie-to-video-game adaptations as "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and such video-game-to-movie adaptations as the computer-generated "Resident Evil: Degeneration." Beginning in the 2000s, Wittenberg expanded his talents into live-action fare, narrating G4TV's re-dubbed Japanese game show "Ninja Warrior" as well as a pair of medical docu-series on Discovery Health, "Mystery ER" and "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant."
