Biography

David Sibley found incredible success as an accomplished actor, appearing in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Sibley's earliest roles were in film, including the dramatic biopic "Gandhi" (1982) with Ben Kingsley, the biographical drama "Great Balls of Fire" (1989) with Dennis Quaid and "Princess Caraboo" (1994) with Jim Broadbent. He also appeared in the Jason Patric thriller "Incognito" (1998). Sibley also lent his voice to various characters in "At the Fountainhead (Of German Strength)" (1980). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Sibley devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Hunt For the Unicorn Killer" (1998-99), "Guest House Paradiso" (2000) and "American Family" (PBS, 2001-04). Sibley was nominated for an Outstanding Music Direction Primetime Emmy Award for "Little Richard" in 2000. In his more recent career, he tackled roles on "Downton Abbey" (2010-), "Utopia" (Channel 4, 2012-14) and "Broadchurch" (BBC, 2012-). Most recently, Sibley appeared in "War & Peace" (2015-).
