Dennis Quaid and Kimberly Buffington-Quaid‘s marriage has been rocky since Buffington-Quaid first filed for divorce in March and then rescinded her papers one month later. But, after spending the past six months trying to patch things up, Buffington-Quaid seems to have decided to trust her initial instinct. On Friday, she filed for legal separation, People reports.
A representative for Quaid confirms for People, “Kimberly and Dennis Quaid have decided to legally separate after 8 years of marriage. They ask that their privacy and the privacy of their family be respected during this difficult time.”
Quaid, 58, and Buffington-Quaid, 42, have four-year-old twins together. According to TMZ, Buffington-Quaid has asked for joint legal and sole physical custody of their kids, Thomas and Zoe Grace.
This will be Quaid’s third divorce. We was married to actress P.J. Soles from 1978-1983 and Meg Ryan from 1991-2001.
