Depp, Bullock, Laurie Double Up At People’s Choice Awards

Johnny DeppSandra Bullock and Hugh Laurie were the toast of Hollywood on Wednesday night after landing leading prizes at the People’s Choice Awards.

Depp was named the Favorite Movie Actor, and his Sweeney Todd co-star Sacha Baron Cohen honored him with the Favorite Movie Actor of the Decade prize.

Baron Cohen revealed that the event organizers decided to give Depp the special award after realizing more people had voted for him in the past 10 years than any other celebrity.

Meanwhile, Bullock was named Favorite Movie Actress, and her film The Proposal won the Favorite Comedy Movie prize.

Laurie claimed the Favorite TV Drama Actor honor for House, which picked up the night’s Favorite TV Drama award.

It was also a big night for Hugh Jackman, who won for Favorite Action Star, and Twilight‘s Taylor Lautner, who was named Favorite Breakout Movie Actor.

Music awards went to Mariah Carey (Favorite R&B Artist), Carrie Underwood (Favorite Country Artist), Keith Urban (Favorite Male Artist) and Taylor Swift (Favorite Female Artist).

Over 60 million film fans, music lovers and TV viewers voted for the awards.

Favorite Movie Actress – Sandra Bullock

Favorite Movie Actor – Johnny Depp

Favorite Action Star – Hugh Jackman

Favorite Independent Film – Inglourious Basterds

Favorite Breakout Movie Actor – Taylor Lautner (New Moon)

Favorite Male Artist – Keith Urban

Favorite Female Artist – Taylor Swift

Favorite Country Artist – Carrie Underwood
