Derek Hough: ‘I have banned myself from dancing with Jennifer Lopez’

Professional dancer Derek Hough has “banned” himself from strutting his stuff with his fellow World Of Dance judge Jennifer Lopez because he becomes a real klutz around her.
The stars often practise routines together, but Hough admits he always flubs his moves in front of J.Lo, so he’s decided to take a break from partnering with the Waiting for Tonight hitmaker.
“There’s been a few times when we’ve been dancing together and I just can’t do it,” he told morning show Live with Kelly and Ryan. “I’ve banned myself from dancing with her for at least a year.”
Recalling some of the worst accidents the pair has endured, Derek continued, “I dipped her down, stepped on her hair, pulled her back up, and needless to say half of her hair didn’t make it back up! I felt terrible.
“Then we were dancing and I did a jazz split and she was doing a strut forward and I tripped her, and she fell off the stage and I grabbed her. I’m an absolute mess when I dance with her for some reason, we’re bumping heads…”
However, he has no such issues dancing with show host Jenna Dewan.
“We’re smooth,” he said. “It’s something about (Jennifer)…”
