Dick Van Dyke Suffering From Undiagnosed Neurological Disorder

Due to a health scare, film and TV legend Dick Van Dyke, 87, has canceled an appearance planned for April 26 at the 92nd Street Y. The actor was set to receive 92Y’s first Lifetime Achievement Award for Bettering Humanity Through Comedy, Entertainment Tonight reports.

A rep for Van Dyke confirms to Hollywood.com that the event’s cancelation is due to   “fatigue and lack of sleep resulting from symptoms of a yet-to-be diagnosed neurological disorder.”

“They’ve done scans,” his rep continues. “They can’t seem to get a specific diagnosis, but they know one thing: It’s not a life-threatening situation. It just interrupts his sleep. It’s a throbbing during the night that won’t go away.”

According to ET, in addition to the New York event, Van Dyke has canceled all commitments that would require him to travel outside of Malibu, Calif., where he presently resides.

If Van Dyke’s history tells us anything, he’ll be back on his feet dancing again in no time.
