Doc Severinsen worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Severinsen worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "All-Star Swing Festival" (PBS, 1976-77), "CBS News Sunday Morning" (CBS, 1978-2012), "Sharky's Machine" (1981) starring Burt Reynolds, "The Big Band and All That Jazz" (NBC, 1972-73), "The Boots Randolph Show" (NBC, 1972-73) and "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" (NBC, 1962-1992). In the eighties, Severinsen devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson 21st Anniversary Special" (NBC, 1983-84), "Christmas With Friends" (NBC, 1984-85), "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson 22nd Anniversary Special" (NBC, 1984-85) and "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson: 23rd Anniversary" (NBC, 1985-86).
