Biography

Don Megowan was an actor who was no stranger to being featured in numerous film roles throughout his Hollywood career. Megowan began his acting career appearing in various films, such as the James Mason adaptation "Prince Valiant" (1954), the western adventure "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier" (1955) with Fess Parker and the mystery adaptation "To Catch a Thief" (1955) with Cary Grant. He also appeared in "A Lawless Street" (1955), "The Creature Walks Among Us" (1956) and "Anything Goes" (1956) with Bing Crosby. He kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in "The Great Locomotive Chase" (1956) with Fess Parker, "The Werewolf" (1956) and the Jerry Lewis comedy "The Delicate Delinquent" (1957). During the latter part of his career, he continued to act in the drama "The Devil's Brigade" (1968) with William Holden, the Isaac Hayes action picture "Truck Turner" (1974) and the Robert Padilla adventure "The Great Gundown" (1977). He also was featured in the TV movies "Scream of the Wolf" (ABC, 1973-74) and "Melvin Purvis: G-Man" (ABC, 1973-74). Megowan more recently appeared in "Mrs. R's Daughter" (NBC, 1979-1980).
