Don Pedro Colley
Although he starred in plenty of notable films and television shows throughout his career, Don Pedro Colley never wanted to be an actor. In fact, as a teenager Colley was a stellar athlete in both football and track, and even tried out for the 1960 Summer Olympics discus throwing team. He failed to make the team, however, and after a chance meeting with some friends at a play rehearsal, decided to focus on acting. By 1968 he had a recurring role on the action/adventure series "Daniel Boone" and gained further success with smaller roles in the science fiction films "Beneath the Planet of the Apes", which was a sequel to the 1968 original, and 1971's "THX 1138", director George Lucas's film about a dystopian future. Colley acted in dozens of TV shows throughout the 1970s, among them "Little House on the Prairie " and "Fantasy Island", before landing a recurring role as Sheriff Little on "The Dukes of Hazzard", a role he played from 1981 to 1984.
