Donovan Leitch defends Paltrow ‘goodbye’ kiss

Rocker Donovan Leitch is playing down a kiss he stole from his ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow at a baseball game last year (Sep13), insisting the smooch was innocent and is in no way connected to the actress’ marriage split. Paltrow stunned fans last week (ends28Mar14) when she announced that she and husband Chris Martin would be “consciously uncoupling” via her Goop.com website.
Almost immediately, gossips and bloggers dug up a photo of Paltrow and Leitch kissing at a Los Angeles Dodgers game and suggested maybe that was partly to blame for the marriage split.
Now, Leitch has broken his silence, insisting it was just a goodbye peck.
He explains, “It was purely innocent. We were sitting in the owner’s box in front of 30,000 people with her two children right next to us. That isn’t exactly the setting for a secret liaison. I consider her one of my closest friends. We have tons of great friends in common.”
