The 3D film is expected to lose out to Disney’s Toy Story 3 at the Oscars later this month (Feb11), but How to Train Your Dragon had a moment of glory in Hollywood at the weekend.
The DreamWorks production picked up 10 trophies, including Best Picture and a voice-acting prize for Jay Baruchel.
Toy Story 3 was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the International Animated Film Society prizegiving, along with Disney’s Tangled, but studio bosses pulled out of the event in a dispute over voting procedures.
