Bradley Cooper, Dropkick Murphys Help Boston Bombing Victims

Bradley Cooper

Now that the entire country has taken a collective sigh of relief over the capture of Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, we can all move on to the people who are still suffering: the hundreds who were injured and the families of the three people who were sadly killed.

Actor Bradley Cooper — who is currently in the famous city filming his new untitled film (along with his Silver Linings Playbook co-star Jennifer Lawrence) — made a visit to the local hospital. The actor was seen posing for pictures with one of the marathon runners, Jeff Bauman Jr., who had both legs below the knee amputated as a result of the Boston blasts. The photo was taken by Julian Edelman of the New England Patriots, who also showed up after hearing Bauman was “a huge Patriots fan,” People reports.

Other famous faces helping the victims is Massachusetts-native punk rock band Dropkick Murphys — who just released their eighth studio album and in the past have sang of their love for Boston with the anthem heard in The Departed “I’m Shipping Up to Boston.” The group — which consists of Ken Casey, Al Barr, Tim Brennan, James Lynch, Matt Kelly, Josh Wallace, and Jeff DaRosa — have raised more than $100,000 with the sale of their “For Boston” t-shirts they are selling on their website. The group says that “100 percent of all proceeds from this shirt will go directly to the victims and families of the Boston bombings.”
