Eric B. & Rakim reunite to celebrate 30th anniversary of Paid in Full

Rap duo Eric B. & Rakim reunited on stage for the first time in 20 years on Friday night (07Jul17).
The rappers hit the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Paid in Full release, and performed the entire album, including songs I Ain’t No Joke, My Melody, and I Know You Got Soul.
They were joined by artists including EPMD, Flavor Flav, Ma$e, Ice-T, and others.
“Thank you to everybody who showed love…, rocked with us and came to show love last night at the Apollo!” the duo wrote on Instagram after the show.
Eric B. revealed plans for the reunion in October (16), announcing a tour and album reissues were in the works.
“All too often we embrace our icons only after it’s too late,” Eric B.’s representative told Rolling Stone last year (16). “By having such an important group come together now, it’s an opportunity for parents and their kids to go to a show together and see music that created the foundation for what many of today’s artists were built upon.”
