Biography

Eric Wilton was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Wilton's career in acting began with his roles in various films like the Ruth Chatterton drama "Female" (1933), "The Masquerader" (1933) and "Beware of Ladies" (1937). He also appeared in "Wuthering Heights" (1939) with Merle Oberon and "Johnny Apollo" (1940). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "They Raid By Night" (1942), the dramedy "Molly and Me" (1945) with Gracie Fields and the drama "Three Strangers" (1946) with Sydney Greenstreet. He also appeared in the biopic "Jolson Sings Again" (1949) with Larry Parks. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "Valentino" (1951) with Anthony Dexter, the drama "A Star Is Born" (1954) with Judy Garland and the Clifton Webb drama "Woman's World" (1954). He also appeared in "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt" (1956) with Dana Andrews. Wilton more recently acted in the Frank Sinatra adaptation "The Joker Is Wild" (1957). Wilton passed away in February 1957 at the age of 75.
