Ex-‘Glee’ Star Mark Salling Is Turning Himself In Amidst Child Porn Charges

Former Glee star Mark Salling is scheduled to turn himself in to federal authorities following charges of child pornography. According to the Associated Press, the 33-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned on two charges of receiving and possessing child porn.

Salling was arrested in December after an ex-girlfriend allegedly tipped off the LAPD. The LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained a warrant and seized Salling’s computer, external hard drive and USB flash drive among other electronic devices. According to TMZ, law enforcement found more than a thousand images of child sexual exploitation.

Salling’s indictment alleges that he used the Internet on December 26th to obtain a still image and video depicting child pornography involving underage girls. His second charge alleges that he possessed two similar pornographic videos three days later.

After the allegations, Salling lost his upcoming role in the miniseries Gods and Secrets. Recently, he was spotted carrying a $100,000 check made out to the Clerk of the U.S. District Court, which may be used to post bail after his hearing on Friday.

If found guilty, Salling faces a minimum of five years in Federal Prison and a maximum of 20 years for receiving child porn. He faces an additional 20 years maximum for possessing the pornographic videos. The actor is expected to plea not guilty.

Salling played the role of Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the popular musical dramedy Glee.
