For this week’s HollyGOOD news: New FLOTUS Dr. Jill Biden shows us her first act as First Lady as she holds an event to honor teachers from around the nation.
Dr. Jill Biden shared this on her Instagram:
“I couldn’t wait one more day to have this meeting, to say thank you on behalf of a grateful nation to thousands of educators for their heroic commitment to their students during this pandemic. You’ve been so strong; and the President and I will be strong in our support for you.”
On Thursday, January 21, FLOTUS held a virtual event with educators praising them for their efforts before and during the pandemic.
Dr. Biden is an educator herself and has a doctorate in educational leadership. She knows the daily struggles that teachers go through.
According to USA TODAY, Dr. Jill Biden promised that her and her husband, President Joe Biden “are on the side of teachers and their unions, who helped win the election for the new administration.”
This took place just one day after the Inauguration of 46th POTUS Joe Biden and Madam Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday, January 20th (which we celebrated with this playlist).
This is just the beginning for FLOTUS and we’re excited for what is to come.
