Biography

Florence Lake was an accomplished actress who appeared in a variety of films throughout her career. In her early acting career, Lake appeared in such films as the dramatic adaptation "Romance" (1930) with Greta Garbo, the musical drama "The Rogue Song" (1930) with Lawrence Tibbett and the Lew Ayres drama "Night World" (1932). She also appeared in the Warner Baxter comedy "To Mary - With Love" (1936) and "Quality Street" (1937). She continued to act in productions like "Convicts at Large" (1938), "Stagecoach" (1939) with Claire Trevor and "Crash Dive" (1943). She also appeared in "Goin' to Town" (1944). She also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Lassie" (1954-1974). Additionally, she appeared on the television special "The Fess Parker Show" (1973-74). Lake last acted in the horror film "Welcome to Arrow Beach" (1974) with Laurence Harvey.
