Foreigner 40th anniversary musical set to premiere in Canada next year

Rockers Foreigner are celebrating their 40th anniversary with a new stage musical, based on their hits.
Juke Box Hero, which is based on a screenplay written by prolific British screenwriters Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, will premiere in Alberta, Canada next year (18).
Clement and La Frenais are responsible for the films Flushed Away, The Commitments and Across The Universe, and British TV hits like The Likely Lads, Porridge, and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
Band leader Mick Jones says, “I am so proud that these songs will now be reinterpreted for stage, and am honoured by the team that is helping bring this music to life. I can’t express the gratitude I feel when fans share stories of how our songs have been woven into their milestones and memories over the years… I’m thrilled that Canada will see the premiere of our brand new musical, Juke Box Hero, in 2018.”
Meanwhile, Jones and his bandmates will hit the road for a 10-city Canadian tour in October (17).
The tour will support a new compilation album, titled 40, which features 40 of the bands hits from 40 years. It was released on 26 May (17).
