Biography

George Antheil was most commonly known for his impressive musical talents. Antheil worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Angels Over Broadway" (1940), "Make Way For Tomorrow" (1937) starring Victor Moore, "Repeat Performance" with Louis Hayward (1948), "Specter of the Rose" (1946), "The Buccaneer" (1938) and "Union Pacific" with Barbara Stanwyck (1939). In the forties and the fifties, Antheil devoted his time to various credits, such as "Knock on Any Door" (1949) starring Humphrey Bogart, "The Fighting Kentuckian" (1949), "Tokyo Joe" with Humphrey Bogart (1949), "We Were Strangers" (1949) starring Jennifer Jones and "House By the River" with Louis Hayward (1950). Antheil had a number of different projects under his belt in the fifties, including "Sirocco" (1951) starring Humphrey Bogart, "Actors and Sin" (1952), "The Juggler" (1953) starring Kirk Douglas, "Not As a Stranger" (1955) and "The Pride and the Passion" with Cary Grant (1957). Antheil last worked on the Keith Carradine comedic drama "The Moderns" (1988). George Antheil passed away in February 1959 at the age of 59.
