George Ezra bags first U.K. number one single

George Ezra’s new single Shotgun has scored the singer his first ever U.K. number one.
The Brit’s latest song has toppled Clean Bandit’s Solo to climb to the top of Friday’s rundown.
A delighted Ezra tells OfficialCharts.com: “I never thought that this would happen. The thing that’s most amazing about it is the fact that all of you out there (fans) are sharing the song and playing it loud and enjoying it with your summer, which is exactly what I wanted. I can’t thank you enough.”
Solo falls to two, while Anne-Marie’s 2002 stays at three. Jess Glynne’s I’ll Be There and slain U.S. rapper XXXTentacion’s SAD! round out the new top five.
The murdered 20-year-old’s track rocketed back up the Billboard Hot 100 charts in America earlier this week to number one, days after he was gunned down in Florida.
The record-breaking movie soundtrack to The Greatest Showman is still on top of the U.K. albums rundown – and racks up an incredible 21st non-consecutive week at number one.
Panic! At The Disco’s Pray for the Wicked debuts at number two, while Ezra’s Staying at Tamara’s falls from two to three.
