George Lazenby and Pierce Brosnan in clash of the Bonds

Actor George Lazenby had an awkward first encounter with Pierce Brosnan as his fellow Bond star was convinced there was bad blood between them.
Lazenby, who starred just once as 007, in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, is on good terms with the other leading men in the superspy franchise but was surprised to receive a frosty reception from Brosnan.
The Irish star heard a rumour that Lazenby had made a cutting remark about his appearance, but the pair put the ill feeling behind them when Lazenby explained he had not aimed a jibe at Brosnan.
He tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, “I like Roger Moore and I admire Sean Connery’s style. I haven’t met Daniel Craig, but I did meet Timothy Dalton once and he was happy to see me. The only one I had a run-in with was Pierce Brosnan. He thought I’d said he’d make a good-looking waiter, but I didn’t say that – I’m not clever enough.”
