Bonus Trivia

.

Martin caused a minor scandal at EMI in the early '60s when word got out that the unhappily-married Parlophone label head was engaged in an affair with his secretary, Judy Lockhart-Smith. After Martin's wife agreed to a divorce, Martin and Lockhart-Smith wed in 1966 and remained married until his death.

.

Martin wrote and recorded a novelty single, "Time Beat," in 1962 under the name Ray Cathode. Created with the help of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, it was one of the first British singles to include electronic musical instruments.
