Biography

Gerald Levert worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. Levert worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Booty Call" (1997), "Celebrate the Soul of American Music" and the Eddie Murphy and Eddie Murphy blockbuster "Coming to America" (1988). He also contributed to "MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon" "New Jack City" (1991) and "The American Music Awards" (ABC, 1991-92). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Levert devoted his time to various credits, such as "R & B '97: Year in Review" "The 26th Annual American Music Awards" (ABC, 1998-99) and "Bamboozled" with Damon Wayans (2000). Levert was most recently credited in the Tyler Perry dramatic adaptation "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?" (2007). Levert had a number of different projects under his belt in the early 2000s, including "Soul Food" "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" with Jack "Black Jack" Ashford (2002) and "Crank" (2006). His credits also expanded to "Madea's Family Reunion" (2006) starring Tyler Perry. Levert passed away in November 2006 at the age of 40.
