Biography

Gil Birmingham was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Birmingham's acting career began mostly with his roles in various films, such as the Arye Gross comedy sequel "House II: The Second Story" (1987), the drama "Doe Boy" (2000) with James Duval and "Skins" (2002). He continued to work steadily in television dramas throughout the early 2000s, appearing on "Medical Investigation" (NBC, 2004-05) and "Castle" (ABC, 2008-). He also landed a role in the miniseries "DreamKeeper" (2003-04). He appeared in several installments of the teen vampire romance "Twilight," including roles in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" (2009), "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part One" (2011) and "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (2010). He also appeared in "Twilight" (2008). Birmingham took on film roles in more recent years, appearing in "Crooked Arrows" (2012) and the action film "The Lone Ranger" (2013) with Johnny Depp. He held additional roles in television including a part on "Banshee" (Cinemax, 2012-). Birmingham's distinctive voice can be heard on the Johnny Depp blockbuster animated picture "Rango" (2011). Most recently, Birmingham appeared in "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" (2014-).
