Don’t you love when celebrity couples act like they are so in love with one another and then a week later you find out they’ve secretly been fighting all the time? They tend to want to keep this idyllic persona about their lives, making everything out to be perfect so fans can continue to worship them. Thankfully though, some stars like Gwyneth Paltrow have a decent grasp on reality and admit that life and love aren’t peachy all the time and just because she’s married to successful Coldplay rocker, Chris Martin, doesn’t mean that they don’t have their ups and downs.
Paltrow gives fans a glimpse into her married life in the upcoming September issue of Elle magazine saying, “Sometimes it’s hard being with someone for a long time…we go through periods that aren’t all rosy. I always say, life is long and you never know what’s going to happen.” And just in case anything were to happen or the couple were to part ways, they’ve always got a contingency plan. But don’t expect too many rocky waters for this overall happy couple. The actress comments that, “I made such a good choice. He’s such a good dad….I’m not going to take this for granted.” And even though Paltrow is really starting to come into her own as a singer — first with special appearances on Glee and later performing at the Grammys and Country Music Awards — she’s not expecting any help from her hubby singer. Gwyneth calls Chris “a musical genius” and explains why she’s not asking for his advice saying, “It’s like living with Picasso, and being like, ‘Should I make a little something-something?'” Well so far those little ‘something-somethings’ seem to be a huge success with or without any help.
Should we expect the couple to perform a duet in the future? Paltrow doesn’t seem to think so stating, “He makes music for his fans, and he doesn’t want people to conjure a lame famous couple when they’re getting into his music. I get it.” We certainly haven’t seen the end of this actress-turned-singer’s musical talents though. Her BFFs Beyonce and Jay Z are trying to get her to make her own album. “They think that I should just go do it by myself…I should go…in a studio and see what happens. And if it’s good, do it. And if it’s not, don’t. So that’s probably what I’ll do.” Looking forward to seeing what lies in store for her in the future (which hopefully include a few more guest appearances on Glee). But in the meantime, there’s always her popular lifestyle site, Goop.com.
