I decided to do some informal research by asking my whopping 871 Instagram followers what they love most about the singer.

Two people simply said “Everything;” another friend says they love him because “he’s a femme straight boy who isn’t afraid to explore his gender sexuality. he fiiine too.” Another says, “1. He is soo sexy 2. He pushes gender norms with his style and doesn’t care what ppl think.” One friend, who I know has stanned Harry Styles since his One Direction days, says “His voice, accent, and humor/charm.”

My one outlier friend said “I’ve never heard a song of his” and I figured I should include it to shock some Harry Styles fans who can’t imagine a life without him in it.

With these insights in mind, and a note to myself to introduce my friend to Harry Styles songs ASAP, I combed through dozens of articles to pull some feel-good Harry Styles quotes, well-loved lyrics from Harry Styles songs, and details about two (!!) upcoming Harry Styles movies.

In the process, I found myself shamelessly falling in love with Harry Styles. I get it now.

Throw on a playlist with your favorite Harry Styles songs and get ready for a read that’s almost as sweet as “Watermelon Sugar.”

“I think there’s so much masculinity in being vulnerable and allowing yourself to be feminine, and I’m very comfortable with that.”

Harry Styles said this in a phone interview with Timothée Chalamet for i-D. Here’s to vulnerability and redefining masculinity!

“Bring back manly men.”

A quote from Harry Styles from a December 2020 Instagram post.

“I think if you’re making what you want to make, then ultimately no one can tell you you’re unsuccessful, because you’re doing what makes you happy.”

“I think it’s a very free, and freeing, time. I think people are asking, ‘Why not?’ a lot more. Which excites me. It’s not just clothes where lines have been blurred, it’s going across so many things. I think you can relate it to music, and how genres are blurring.”

“I believe in karma, and I think it’s just a time right now where we could use a little more kindness and empathy and patience with people, be a little more prepared to listen and grow.”

Harry Styles in a 2020 Vogue interview

“I think it’s important when making any kind of art to remove the ego from it…It’s about the work that you do when you’re not expecting any applause.”

Harry Styles movies we can’t wait to watch in theaters

In 2017, Harry Styles made his feature-length film debut as Alex in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, a World War II film with little dialogue and a powerful score from Hans Zimmer. The movie was a smash hit, well received by critics and fans alike, receiving eight Academy Award nominations and winning the Oscar for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Film Editing.

“It was one of the best experiences I think I’ve had,” Harry Styles says in a TODAY show interview promoting the release of Dunkirk. Not too shabby for Harry Styles’ Hollywood movie debut, which you can watch now on HBO Max.

Soon, we’ll get to head to the movie theater to see Harry Styles in two new movie releases!

Olivia Wilde’s thriller Don’t Worry Darling will star Harry Styles alongside Florence Pugh. Don’t Worry Darling is set in “a 1950s utopia in the California desert.” We’re already intrigued.

“She and I did a little victory dance when we heard that we officially had Harry in the film because we knew that he has a real appreciation for fashion and style,” Olivia Wilde says to Vogue about her and costume designer Arriane Phillips’ reaction to Harry being cast in the movie. “And this movie is incredibly stylistic. It’s very heightened and opulent, and I’m really grateful that he is so enthusiastic about that element of the process—some actors just don’t care.”

“Little known fact: most male actors don’t want to play supporting roles in female-led films,” Olivia Wilde said in an Instagram post. “The industry has raised them to believe it lessens their power (i.e financial value) to accept these roles, which is one of the reasons it’s so hard to get financing for movies focusing on female stories. No joke, it is harrrrrd to find actors who recognize why it might be worth it to allow for a woman to hold the spotlight.”

She goes on to say that Harry Styles “didn’t have to join our circus, but he jumped on board with humility and grace, and blew us away every day with his talent, warmth, and ability to drive backwards.”

Harry Styles is also on the cast of My Policeman, a film adaptation of a novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts. The Crown’s Emma Corrin will star alongside Harry set in England in the 1950s.

Harry will play Tom, a handsome policeman drawn to Patrick, a museum curator. He realizes it’s safer to marry Marion (Emma Corrin), and a decades-long love triangle ensues. Production is expected to start this spring/summer in England, COLLIDER reports.
