Biography

A native of California, actress Heather North is best known for voicing the character of Daphne in various incarnations of the "Scooby-Doo" animated series. North began her screen career in the mid-1960s, appearing in episodes of the TV shows "Gidget," "The Fugitive," "The Monkees," and "My Three Sons," among others. In '70, she became the second person to provide the voice for the beautiful redheaded Daphne on "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!," and reprised the role as the Scooby Gang member throughout subsequent years. Aside from a featured role in the Disney movie "The Barefoot Executive," starring Kurt Russell, North largely stuck with the "Scooby-Doo" franchise, voicing Daphne in various '70s incarnations, including the series "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo." Although North mostly retired from the part after the '80s, she returned to playing Daphne for a pair of 2003 straight-to-video movies-"Scooby-Doo and the Legend of the Vampire" and "Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico."
