Biography

Academy Award-winning musician Heinz Roemheld made quite a career for himself. Roemheld began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like "My Love Came Back" (1940), "British Intelligence" (1940) and "Gentleman Jim" (1942). His music also appeared in "Always in My Heart" (1942), "The Hard Way" (1943) and "Make Your Own Bed" (1944) with Jack Carson. Roemheld won a Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture) Academy Award for "Yankee Doodle Dandy" in 1942. Roemheld was nominated for a Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture) Academy Award for "The Strawberry Blonde" in 1941. In the forties, Roemheld devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Chase" with Robert Cummings (1946), "Here Comes Trouble" (1948) and "The Fuller Brush Man" (1948) starring Red Skelton. He also worked on "The Lady From Shanghai" with Orson Welles (1948). Roemheld's music was also featured in the comedy "Three For Bedroom C" (1952) with Gloria Swanson, "The Moonlighter" (1953) with Fred MacMurray and "Ruby Gentry" (1953). His music was also featured in the sports drama "The Square Jungle" (1956) with Tony Curtis and the remake "There's Always Tomorrow" (1956) with Barbara Stanwyck. Roemheld was most recently credited in the Chiwetel Ejiofor romantic comedy "Melinda and Melinda" (2005). Roemheld passed away in February 1985 at the age of 84.
