Biography

Actress-musician Helen Forrest made a splash in Hollywood both on and off-screen for years. With debut roles in the Red Skelton musical comedy "Bathing Beauty" (1944), the musical comedy "Two Girls and a Sailor" (1944) with Van Johnson, and the Marshall Thompson horror feature "First Man in Space" (1959), Forrest began her career in film. Forrest had a diverse career throughout the eighties and the 2010s, including "Artie Shaw: Time Is All You've Got" (1984), "Echoes of the Big Bands With Merv Griffin" (PBS, 1989-1990), "The Rocketeer" (1991) starring Billy Campbell and "The Killer Inside Me" (2010). More recently, Forrest provided music for the dramatic period piece "The Master" (2012) with Joaquin Phoenix.
