Recently Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. The divorce, which was shocking to begin with, is peppered with messy rumors of cheating and child abuse. The FBI is currently investigating Pitt because of the abuse claims, but at least the couple has one thing to look forward to — splitting their assets. Apparently, splitting their $400 million fortune is the least messy part of this divorce thanks to an iron-clad prenup.

Many of us forget that though Brangelina have been together for over 10 years, they’ve only been married for two. According to TMZthey couple signed an extensive prenup that clearly showed how they would split their fortune in the event of a divorce. Were they planning for this all along?

Currently, the couple own a total of 12 properties, nine of which were acquired before they were married or dating in the first place. Brad owns seven of the homes and Angelina owns just two. They acquired three properties during their marriage — a vineyard in France, an apartment in NYC and a mansion in New Orleans — but it’s not clear who contributed what to the finances. According to a sourceBrangelina’s prenup outlines how they’ll split the three properties, and it shouldn’t be a problem.

Brad and Angelina should also only have to split two years of joint income. This includes cash from Brad’s films The Big Short, By The Sea and Allied and Jolie’s recent voice work in Kung Fu Panda 3.

The most difficult part of the divorce will be the children. Angelina has sought full physical custody of their six kids, while granting visitation rights to Brad. Pitt plans to fight Angelina for joint physical custody.
