Howard Stern, Bristol Palin & More Criticize Obama’s Support For Gay Marriage

bristol palinPresident Barack Obama‘s vocal support for gay marriage has been met with a vast amount of celebrity support. Instantly, Hollywood stars took to twitter to commend the President for his admirable words — however, not everyone was overly impressed by his little speech. In fact, some celebs have even gone so far as to vocally criticize the President’s support like Bristol Palin did in a her blog — or, if you’re Howard Stern, say that it just wasn’t enough.

“I wish the president actually had gone further,” Stern recently told The Huffington Post at a press conference. “I wish he said he was going to back some legislation on the national level.” But, the America’s Got Talent judge did concede that it could eventually bring about some progress on the issue — but not much. “It’s a baby step,” he remarked.

Some have an issue with the timing and content of Obama’s announcement, and like Howard, are unhappy that the President has yet to put forward any legislature. Max Mutchnick, the co-creator of Will and Grace, even called the President’s statement “very choreographed.”

But Howard and Mutchnick weren’t the most vocal of this group. Who can forget Bristol Palin’s bitter remarks when she took to her blog to express her disapproval with Obama’s way of thinking? She even managed to bash the Fox hit show Glee while she was at it, stating, “It would’ve been nice if the President would’ve been an actual leader and helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee.”
