Biography

Ian Anthony Dale has risen from small parts in a variety of films and TV series to become the key character Simon Lee on the science fiction/conspiracy thriller "The Event. " In the earlier role of Davis Lee on another science fiction series called "Surface," he played a secret operative hiding information about quickly evolving sea creatures that threaten life as we know it. On "The Event," he plays a secret operative again, but this time his allegiances are decidedly more complicated. He works for the United States government, as part of the cover-up of an alien landing, but, unbeknownst to his colleagues, he's actually one of the aliens, having infiltrated human society in order to further their own secret agenda. As Simon Lee, Dale plays a man of integrity who cares about the well-being of his own people as well as that of mankind, and he struggles to contend with corrupt and dangerous forces on both sides. Part of the tension of the show from episode to episode is an enduring question: If Dale's character is ever forced to choose between the survival of his race and the survival of the Earth, which will he choose?
