In the early 2000s, India.Arie's music mostly appeared in films like "Brown Sugar" (2002), the John Leguizamo crime feature "Empire" (2002) and the Cuba Gooding Jr. dramatic adaptation "Radio" (2003). Her work was also in the Will Smith hit action picture "Shark Tale" (2004). India.Arie wrote musical scores featured in the Sarah Jessica Parker blockbuster dramatic adaptation "Sex and the City" (2008), the dramatic adaptation "The Secret Life of Bees" (2008) with Queen Latifah and the Gugu Mbatha-Raw romance "Beyond the Lights" (2014). In addition to her music, India.Arie also appeared on-screen in "Pastor Brown" (2013) with Salli Richardson-Whitfield.
