Hey! It’s time for another Good in the ‘Wood Wednesday!
Shailene Woodley was on Monday night’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her new upcoming movie release, The Mauritanian. The actor also confirmed that she is indeed engaged to NFL player Aaron Rodgers. Now, that’s some #HollyGOOD news!
Rodgers, 37, just finished winning the league’s MVP Award for the third time. But that may not be the highlight of his year. He and Shailene are indeed getting hitched.
With vastly different careers and not much shared on any of their social media profiles, the engagement comes as a surprise to many!
Some fans believe that Jodie Foster may have been the one to set the two up as he thanked the Hollywood actress during his recent MVP acceptance speech for his “off the field support.”
Shailene Woodley is a well-renowned actor celebrated for her starring roles in the Divergent movie series and the tearjerker film The Fault in Our Stars following her breakout role in the TV series The Secret Life of the American Teenager. More recently, the actor starred in the hit HBO series Big Little Lies, but she’s not the only one to grace our TV screens. Remember Rodgers’ cameo in that one Game of Thrones episode?
The mix of talents does not go both ways––Woodley admitted that before meeting Rodgers, she hadn’t watched a single football game.
In her Monday interview with Jimmy Fallon, the celeb confesses that she’s still sort of understanding how big of a football legend Aaron Rodgers is since she didn’t really grow up with sports.
“I don’t know him as a football guy, I know him as the nerd who wants to host Jeopardy – that’s the dude I know. He just happens to also be very good at sports,” Woodley told Fallon on Monday night.
The two met in 2020 and have been rumored to have been dating for a couple of months now and seem to be very happy.
During the interview you can see the 29-year-old Big Little Lies actor’s beautiful engagement ring sitting on her left hand.
Fans of both Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers seem to be happy about the news, despite Woodley’s innocent ignorance of Rodger’s successful NFL career:
