J August Richards
Born in Washington, D. C., and raised in Maryland, actor J. August Richards is an actor who has worked extensively on television. Richards began acting while in high school, and appeared in his first screen role in a one-off spot on "The Cosby Show" in 1988. During the '90s, he was featured briefly in various TV programs, including the sitcom "Family Matters" and the popular dramas "JAG", "Chicago Hope", and "The West Wing". In 2000, he appeared in a recurring part on the MTV drama "Undressed" before joining the cast of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" spin-off "Angel" as good guy Charles Gunn. After his popular run on "Angel" ended in '04, Richards starred on the legal dramas "Conviction" and "Raising the Bar", but both shows were cancelled in their early stages. Remaining active on television, Richards also guest-starred on episodes of the sci-fi mystery series "The 4400" and the hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy".
