Yesterday, July 31st there was a ton to celebrate. Acclaimed author J.K. Rowling turned 51 years old, Harry Potter turned 36, and the eighth book in the Harry Potter saga, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was released in bookstores. Though these were all huge milestones, we also ended the day with some sad news. It seems like after eight films, eight books and almost two decades, J.K. Rowling is officially done with The Boy Who Lived.

This past weekend at the London premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Rowling told reporters, “[Harry] goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done.” Rowling elaborated a bit further on her decision saying, “This is the next generation, you know. So, I’m thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”
